Skin Treatments Menus
The Glow Bar uses only the highest quality products from SkinCeuticals in our chemical peels & facials. We are now offering microneedling using the only FDA approved device - the SkinPen by Bellus Medical.
Micro-needling is the process of making micro-injuries to the skin's surface. This initiates the body's natural healing process while minimizing cellular damage. This causes your skin to remodel the treated areas. The Glow Bar offers the only FDA approved micro-needling system - The SkinPen® by Bellus Medical.
Why is micro-needling so effective?
Micro-needling causes micro-trauma to the skin. This tells the body to begin the healing process. There are three phases of wound healing which your body goes through after the initial injury occurs. Stimulating this natural process is what makes micro-needling with the SkinPen so effective.
Who should be treated?
Micro-needling can be used on any skin shade or type, for any skin concern. We recommend micro-needling for patients who do not feel they are ready for injectables like BOTOX®, Jeuveau™, or Fillers as this treatment is highly effective at smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Micro-needling is also the most effective and least damaging skin treatment for erasing scars caused by acne or injury.
What areas can be treated?
SkinPen can be used on any part of the body. Most commonly, the treatment is performed on the face. However, treatments can be done anywhere from the hairline down to the toes to help tighten skin, promote hair regrowth, and remove scars.
What to expect during a micro-needling treatment:
Before the treatment, your provider will numb your face with numbing cream. Once the cream take effect, it will be removed entirely from the face (don't worry, you'll still be numb). Your provider will then glide the pen over the area being treated in 3 different directions. This process is causing micro-injuries to the skin, so you may experience some discomfort.
What to expect after a micro-needling treatment:
After the treatment, your skin will be red. You may even be bleeding in some areas. This is normal and in fact evidence that the treatment was working. You will be given a sample of a healing, hydrating gel from Bellus Medical. This is the only thing you should put on your face for 24 hours after treatment.
Office-based chemical peels are essential for maintaining and restoring skin’s health and appearance. Performed by a skincare professional, these exfoliating treatments help resurface the uppermost layer of the skin to reveal new, healthy skin underneath. Chemical peels are available in a variety of formulations and concentrations to target various skin concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone. All of our peels are fully customizable for your skin type.
Performed in a physician’s office, medical facials cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate skin. Suitable for a variety of skin types, these highly-customizable treatments improve the appearance of several skin concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, skin firmness, skin texture, pore congestion, and acne. We call these treatments our "lunchtime" facials because of how quickly they can be performed.
